About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting to own and scale all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, and tax in a high-growth environment. This is a hands-on leadership role rather than a people-management role, while overseeing a small offshore team for day-to-day support. We are looking for someone with the seniority to operate strategically who is equally, if not more energized by executing the work directly. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a lean startup environment and eager to build processes and systems while adopting new tools and technology.
Reporting to the COO, you will be an early finance and accounting hire, responsible for everything from day-to-day accounting and financial operations to financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven strategic decision-making. This role is essential to establishing financial rigor, ensuring compliance, and equipping leadership with timely, accurate insights.
What You Will Do
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Own the full-cycle accounting function and lead an accurate and timely close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence
Manage the general ledger, chart of accounts, and month-end reconciliations, ensuring the structure supports transaction-level visibility and margin reporting
Reconcile all balance sheet and P&L accounts and maintain clean supporting schedules
Produce internal and external financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages
Manage the annual external review/audit process and serve as primary liaison to third-party firms
Establish and document technical accounting positions across the P&L and balance sheet
Financial Operations
Own cash management, treasury, liquidity forecasting, and banking relationships
Own AP, AR, billing, and collections, maintaining healthy working-capital cycles as transaction volume grows
Manage our monthly profit share calculations and remittance process with strategic partners
Design and maintain a scalable billing system capable of absorbing rapid growth in a complex billing environment
Lead a team of AR Specialists responsible for collections and settlement communications with delinquent accounts
Build and maintain revenue reconciliations from our internal billing system of record
Manage payroll and related compliance for a global base of employees and contractors
Oversee spend controls, approval workflows, and vendor management through our virtual spend-management platform
FP&A & Strategic Finance
Build and own the company's financial model, budget, and rolling forecast on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence
Establish and maintain KPI and unit-economics reporting (e.g., revenue per transaction, cost per transaction, gross margin, EBITDA margin) and lead monthly business reviews
Deliver monthly variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary for leadership
Partner across the business on strategic planning, scenario modeling, pricing, and resource allocation
Serve as the lead thought partner for decision support and business-case analysis on new products, markets, partnerships, and major investments
Establish long-range planning and headcount models tied to growth targets
Tax & Compliance
Oversee all federal, state, local, and payroll tax matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
Implement and manage sales tax registration, filing, and remittance through third-party automation tools
Manage relationships with external tax advisors and ensure timely filings and payments
Data & Systems
Own and optimize the finance technology stack (accounting, AR/billing, AP/expense, global payroll, and BI tools), leading the selection and implementation of scalable systems as we grow
Establish a single source of truth for financial and operational data with appropriate access controls
Drive automation and process improvement to reduce manual effort and error as volume scales
Develop dashboards and self-serve reporting that give stakeholders real-time visibility into revenue, expenses, and margins
Document and continuously improve SOPs for all accounting and finance related processes and system interdependencies
Identify opportunities to apply AI tooling for greater automation and efficiency (you should be excited to experiment with AI)
Who You Are
Detail-oriented: you are not satisfied until numbers reconcile, and you build in checks and balances to catch and correct errors
Builder: you create structure where little exists and prioritize automation, clear documentation, and repeatable workflows
High ownership: you are accountable for outcomes, not just tasks, and see work through to completion
Clear communicator: you can explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Comfortable with ambiguity: you thrive in a fast-moving environment where decisions evolve quickly but deliberately
Growth-minded : you welcome feedback, continuously seek better ways of working, and are committed to ongoing improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and a CPA designation
7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including time in public accounting and/or high-growth companies
Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks Online, with hands-on experience owning month-end close and financial reporting
Experience leading audits, due diligence, and business reviews with leadership teams
Strong systems mindset and technical proficiency, with the ability to work directly in accounting tools and build automations and integrations independently
Preferred
Experience in technology, SaaS, or startup environments
Experience as the first or sole owner of accounting and finance at a high-growth company. Comfort operating with limited structure, making sound decisions without perfect information
